Build Your Own Pavilion

Connor, age 13

My Pavilion can be located in any space big enough in an urban area. The visitors will be anyone who likes art. It offers a space to socialise, relax and draw. The lower half of my Pavilion is painted wood. The ramps are plastic with chrome or steel rods as the platform. The top half is plastic. The art is glass with lights inside.

I think city planners and architects should think about ways to make our neighbourhood more fun.

  • Hi Connor,

Wow, it looks like a great place to relax and draw, can you climb on it? It looks like you should be able to. I like your mix of materials, using organic and man-made. I can imagine the plastic areas of your design in very bright playful colours and with your addition of lighting it would look very dramatic.
It would make a good space for school creative workshops, what do you think?

Have a look at Claes Oldenburg, some of his fun shapes (on a large scale) remind me of this.
