Build Your Own Pavilion

Tilly, age 10

My Pavilion can be found in the park at Barbeacon where you have a views of Birmingham at the top of the hill.

Anyone is able to come and visit,  there is a lift in the middle of the ladder for people who are disabled. My structure offers a swimming pool with a diving board, people can also relax in the sitting area at the top,

The ladder is made of unbreakable rope, there is also a harness just in case. The lift is made out of steel and glass. The house is made  of brick with a glass roof. The diving board is plastic and the swimming pool is soft in case of bad landings.

  • This is a very imaginative and well considered proposal. The location on top of a hill will reinforce its landmark qualities. The solid seating area raised above the pool is visually striking and the lightweight roof structure gives a very attractive contrast. I like that you have also considered lift access for disabled people, and the pool as a ‘soft landing’ in case of falls!
