Build Your Own Pavilion

Lucy, age 14

My pavilion design is a tree. A tree made from scrap metal for the trunk and branches then light blue glass for the leaves. I decided that the tree should have swings with cushions hung from the branches so that it gives the pavilion more of a purpose. I think that the swings will mainly be used by children because they usually are the ones to go on swings however, it could also be used as a meeting point for teenagers. It is located on a area of grass with a few trees by a road named Barrett Road. My pavilion is a good public space because it brightens up the area and make it more colourful and attractive, not to mention that it is made of scrap materials therefore reusing them. I was inspired by nature but I knew I wanted to put a twist on some of the more beautiful parts of it.
